About

Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) is partnering with organizations including Coalition for Jewish Learning (CJL) on Shalom Curriculum Project (SCP), a project that is focuses on Jews, race, and schools.

In addition to an emerging study on perceived variability and a future community of practice for Black women working in Jewish schools, SCP is developing educational play materials that align with current research on the importance of diverse imaging to positive youth outcomes.

Annalee Good is Principal Investigator, and Shahanna McKinney-Baldon is Co-Principal Investigator. Michal Avera Samuel is Researcher and Coordinator. The following University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty members are collaborators on SCP: Janean Dilworth-Bart (Human Ecology), Teryl Dobbs (retired Curriculum & Instruction, Music Education, Jewish Studies), and Maxine McKinney de Royston (Curriculum and Instruction).

Shalom Curriculum Project is made possible by grants and gifts from Jews of Color Initiative, The Farwell Foundation, American Endowment Foundation, Rosen Family Fund, the Irving Harris Foundation, and others. The project is actively fundraising to cover administrative costs. Click here to donate to Shalom Curriculum Project.
